An egglicious treat at Khan Omelette Corner

Delhi: In the ever-bustling, congested and narrow streets of Fatehpuri, Chandni Chowk is located, one of Delhi's most popular omelette selling stalls.  The omelette served here is buttery, soft and perfectly cooked to have the adequate shades of brown and whites. It's the famous Khan Omelette corner. While their omelettes are heavenly for your taste buds, they may play a little with the weight watchers because of the amount of butter the preparation uses.

Run by two brothers, Gulfaam Mia and Abdul Razzaq, the shop has been serving people for over five decades now. In their small roadside stall,  they have a separate counter on which they serve their palatable and luscious omelette. Their menu offers different varieties of omelettes, which include Lite Omelette, Kulcha Omelette, Egg Sandwich, half fried egg, full fried egg, anda bhujia, boiled egg, boiled egg bhujia, and the very special Khan Omelette.

The thing that makes Khan Omelette, priced at rupees 230, their star is its preparation style. The amount of butter and cheese they put in this omelette is quite a lot. They use four eggs for its preparation, of which, two are half fried and the other two are boiled for making the gravy. To make the gravy, they first make the tadka, to which they add lots of butter, onion, tomatoes, chillies, and spices. After that, they mash the boiled eggs and add them to the tadka with a slice of Amul cheese on it and then serve it with bread.

They use two varieties of eggs, the farm eggs and the Desi eggs. It is up to you which one you want to eat. After going there, we met some of their regular customers. Baseer Ali, who lives in Karol Bagh, comes every Sunday to eat their special Khan Omlette. “This is the best omelette I have ever had, and I have been coming here for the last 5 years.” Says Baseer.
